Who he is

Ashur is a young man that comes from a musical family, he grew up with both parents being music artists and producers, and this naturally has rubbed off on him. He matriculated from Wynberg Boys High School in 2010, he then went to study at the University of Cape Town doing his BMUS. He has been part of various small community bands, malay choirs and university bands, but he is now on the road to his own career as an artist.

Ashur recently successfully produced his very first show and performance called"Like Father, Like Son", which was a sold out show at the Baxter Theatre's Concert Hall. He was assisted by his friend, Carl Biggs and together they made the event a huge success. From here, we wish to launch Ashur's music aspirations and start getting him performing at various events, functions and venues.

We know that investing in education is the single most effective means of reducing poverty. It is the Key to UNLOCK a country’s potential for economic growth. It is the key to UNLOCK healthy families. It is the key to UNLOCK women’s rights. It is the key to UNLOCK self-expression. It is the key to UNLOCK civic engagement. Education UNLOCKS everything and opens so many doors of possibility. We are asking people from around the world to take a picture holding a sign by themselves or with others that says "I Unlock" (or "We Unlock") and then pick the following word. By the end, we will have a large collection of people from around the world, showing everything that education UNLOCKS! Unlock hope, Unlock dreams, Unlock potential!
